About the Role
Description
The Vendor Risk Manager is a crucial participant in the Vendor Risk Management lifecycle process. They will be responsible for various activities from initial vendor risk assessments to ongoing monitoring and performance evaluation. The Vendor Risk Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing an evaluation process for vendors and will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization including Finance, Legal, HR, Information Security, and Technology. They will establish steady-state monitoring processes, create vendor scorecards and executive reports, and facilitate reviews to ensure adherence to contractual SLAs. This position also requires expertise in conducting RFPs/RFIs, negotiating contracts, managing vendor profiles, and providing guidance on issue management.
What You Will Do
Assess vendor risk at the time of vendor onboarding
Establish vendor risk management processes and manage steady state risks across a diverse range of vendors
Create third-party risk management program for vendors who have customer contact
Establish steady-state risk monitoring and reporting process
Create vendor scorecards and executive reporting
Facilitate reviews with vendor relationship owners to ensure vendors are meeting contractual Service Level Agreements
Perform control gap analysis, identify, and escalate issues
Partner with lines of business to provide guidance on issue management
Provide/build vendor risk management training for vendor relationship owners
Write policy, procedures and training for vendor relationship managers
Collaborate directly with senior leaders across the enterprise including Finance, Legal, Information Security, and Technology partners
Assist lines of business with RFP / RFI process, identify alternate vendors to gain competitive pricing and enhanced services
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of Third-Party Risk Management, with extensive experience in managing a diverse range of vendors across a business enterprise with a core involvement in the finance technology industry
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required
- Advanced knowledge of metrics required to implement vendor risk and criticality ratings, vendor steady-state risk management
- Experience managing differing contractual agreements, for instance and not limited to Staffing Agency Contracts, SaaS, EULA, Independent Contractors, SOW’s
- Experience managing third-party customer contact vendors to contractual standards
- First-hand knowledge of working in a risk and control environment
- Proven ability to work with attorneys through review of contractual agreements and redlining process
- Previous experience or knowledge of budgeting and accounts payable processes
- Previous experience conducting searches for new vendors using a structured request for proposal (RFP) process
- Experience with contract negotiations
- Effectively communicate and collaborate across multiple lines of business and senior levels of management, including C-Suite
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and change while driving processes forward
- Capable of working independently as a self-starter
- Performs gap analysis, identifies issues and suggests improvements with minimal guidance
- Self-motivated with an ability to go beyond the minimum expectations
- Advanced use of PowerPoint and Excel
- Comfortable presenting to C-Suite executives
